Organising a family camping trip can be a bit of an ordeal. There are so many pieces of kit, clothes and food to get together that the process can seem daunting. But if you have the right gear, stored all together in one place, it can be a relatively simple process to get up and go when the weather is looking good or the call of nature gets too strong.

The first thing you will need is a good family camping tent, something like a large dome or tunnel tent. These are easy and fun to erect and can be put up in windy conditions, so your family won’t be kept waiting in the cold.

Once you have the right tent you will need to furnish it with roll mats or inflatable mattresses, and quality sleeping bags. You will also need to think about your camping kitchen and get some sort of stove to cook slap up meals for your kids.

To make the experience more comfortable, you should also get a camping lantern for those dark nights and some folding chairs to prevent little bottoms getting damp and cold. Ad as the weather is not always great in this country it would be worth kitting the kids out with camping boots and rain jackets so they can enjoy the outdoors in comfort and learn to share your joy of camping.
